Hot rolled checkered coils are a type of hot rolled steel coils with rhombic (teardrop) shapes on its surface. Because of the rhombic patterns, the surface of the plates is rough, which can be utilized in manufacturing products like floorboards, deck boards, staircases, elevator floors, and other general fabrication.

Cold rolled steel is essentially hot rolled steel that has been further processed by being allowed to cool at room temperature and annealed or temper rolled. Cold rolling produces steel with closer dimensional tolerances and a wider range of surface finishes than hot rolling.

Hot rolling, the process used to make hot rolled steel, involves rolling steel at high temperatures (typically over 1700˚F). These high temperatures are above steel's recrystallization temperature, allowing the steel to be easily shaped, formed, and made in larger sizes.

Mild Steel Sheet Cold Rolled is produced from rimmed, capped and semi-killed steel. It is intended for exposed or unexposed parts involving bending, moderate drawing or forming and welding. This material should be painted or plated to prevent rust. Welding: Good. Machining / Grinding: Excellent.
